The Count Is The Test

A perfectly effective capsule swallowed eleven times in thirty days has not been put to any test. It has been sampled. Almost every disappointed account in this category is an adherence story dressed as a pharmacology story.

Where it breaks. Not on day one. On day nine, when nothing has happened, the novelty has worn off and the bottle has migrated from the counter to a cupboard. Out of sight, the count falls apart within days.

Why the counter matters. Habit research is dull and consistent on this point: a new behaviour survives by attaching itself to an existing one. The kettle. The coffee machine. The toothbrush. Something already touched at the same point every day without a decision.

Why breakfast specifically. Not because the morning is pharmacologically superior. Because breakfast reliably happens. Lunch gets skipped and dinner moves around; breakfast is boringly consistent for most people, and this capsule needs food behind it regardless.

The count is the experiment. The one variable entirely within reach is the number of capsules actually swallowed. Twenty-eight capsules in thirty days constitutes a test. Fifteen is not, and nothing concluded from fifteen is worth anything in either direction.

A cheap trick that works. Put the bottle where the existing habit lives and mark a calendar. Not an app. A mark. The point is to make the count visible, because memory across four weeks is generous to itself about precisely this.

And the honest note. Where a month of real consistency produces nothing nameable, that is a genuine answer, and the window is deliberately longer than the test so it can be acted on.
